Fukurō handpainted Tokoname Japanese Teapot (400ml)

The Fukurō teapot is unglazed and is made from the iron-rich clay from Tokoname. Steeping tea in an unglazed, iron-rich teapot serves to soften the brew as it balances out the tannins in the tea. 

An inbuilt, fine mesh stainless steel strainer means that this teapot can be used to brew many different types of loose leaf tea. 

 

As always with clay teaware, do not use any detergents! To clean, all then you have to do is thoroughly rinse out the tea leaves and leave to dry with the lid off.
